The 1999 Icaria Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley Hillside, 600 cases, has a bouquet of earth, blackberry, black cherry, notes of cinnamon and chocolate. Bright and spicy on the palate with flavors of cherry, blackberry, pepper, sharp cinnamon, currant, chocolate, and a very light touch of bitterness. The finish is long and broad and adds light, very fine tannin. It is excellently balanced, has good acidity, and evidences great structure and integration. It will be even better with another two years of bottle age. Very Good.
The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley Hillside, 300 cases, has big forward, elegant aromas of red and black raspberry, black cherry, currant, blackberry, chocolate, blueberry, smoke, oak, and soft spice. The wine has excellent balance, structure, and integration. Overall, this Cabernet is lush, smooth, and silky with great flavors. Outstanding. BEST WINE.
