2003 Cabernet Sauvignon
Alexander Valley
"EXCELLENT! BEST WINE!"
- Colorado Wine News, April-June 2007 Volume 17., No.1, Managing Editor: Harold J. Baer
"The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley $28 has inviting aromas of currant, blackberry, black cherry, leather, tobacco, dark chocolate, and sweet, smoky oak. All continue as flavors laced with nice bright acidity and fine grained tannin and carry through the long, medium-broad finish. Easily drinkable now, it will be even better with a three to five more years in the bottle to develop and open and has the structure and balance to drink well for a decade. This is not a blockbuster, super ripe, heavily extracted wine but is styled to go on the table with a meal. Bargain priced."
"Icaria also has some Petite Sirah and Zinfandel which are still in the barrels and which, based upon barrel samples, promise to be every bit as good as the Cabernet."
